What a pleasure it was to shoot in such beautiful surroundings. Loughcrew are indeed a lucky club to have those woods but it was obvious that a lot of time and effort has gone into improving the pathways (love the au natural pattern on the "Axminster", btw!) as well as marking-out and setting-up the course itself.
Having the course split into 2D and 3D's was perfect. On the one hand it gave hope that the second half could only get better and on the other it gave consolation that the course wouldn't get any harder... but that was a lie! There were lots of challenging shots; the long ones being the longest ever seen and the shortest being [almost] close enough to spear with the arrow! The 3D's were particularly well done with the super-butts being camouflaged. It gave them a realistic feel and was a great idea that should be pinched more often!
Thank you one and all, hosts and archers, for a super day out. See you all again soon.

Congrats to Loughcrew Archers for a thoroughly enjoyable shoot. There
were some very deceptive shots, long ones that seemed shorter and
shorter ones that seemed longer. The tiny owl was a nice target - we
got to find out how focussed we were, although, I think hiding a peg 2
under a bridge, was a little too punishing for those of us who missed on
the first arrow!
Thanks for the good course, good company, good humour, and good weather.
