Limerick 36 target SBG

25th April

Well, we expected a lot of things to happen, but, the sheer number of archers storming our cosy little venue was breathtaking.
Thank you all (in numbers we are talking 74 participants!) for coming and being patient with us since the timeline went completely off the mark...anyway, once the mess was sorted and when all groups were at their starting points it went surprisingly smoothly from there on. A bit of a downer was the mighty shower that caught everybody by surprise. On the other hand, it was nearly too warm before...
We hope you enjoyed the day and had some fun, thanks again for showing up in force!

That's what you call a hard day at the office,
Boys o boys this was a test and a half, climbing that monster hill on the upper part of the course was a test of endurance even for the fittest of us all ( my poor legs nearly fell off on the journey back)
It's the first shoot I have ever had to climb down a ladder - what next me thinks. The course was in some people's minds set out with longer shots than normal but I have to say after shooting both sides this was not the case. I compared the targets I shot ( with sights ) to the course layout sheet which the organizers kindly showed me at the end of the day and I was more than happy that it was mathematically correct. Take into consideration the amount of Trick Shots use of light and dark, funnel shots through the trees and over valleys and I would say it was the most optically challenging course I have ever shot.
Yes we all know about that crow, but it was a great shot (nailed by more than one person on the first shot and me thank god !)
In my opinion this shoot will be remembered as the greatest challenge of the year.
Hats off to the guys and gals of Limerick for the massive job in revamping the course, the signage, and course marking made it a lot easier to navigate our way through the forest. I think i preferred it better when it was 18 x 2 but maybe that's just me poor legs talking.
All in all a great day out that started very warm and to our surprise a monsoon shower to cool us down. It didn't dampen the spirits and the banter at the end was a great laugh.
Just one note : to all clubs including mine. I think we need to sort the toilet situation out once and for all, with over 70 people at a shoot need I say more. We have a man who can who is sorting out the supply of Toilets for the events so stay tuned! Even if it costs a few euros extra for the day out I think its worth it. Don't you????
Thank you all at Limerick for a shoot to remember - a job well done !
